DESCRIPTION:Registration starts at 6 PM — Competition starts 6:30 PM  T
 he Mt. Prospect Council 6481 Knights  of Columbus  invites  all girls 
  and boys\, ages 9 through 14\, to participate in the Council level of com
 petition for 2018 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship on Monday\, 
 January 15\, 2018\, at St. Emily's Gym\, 1400 E. Central Road\, Mount Pros
 pect. Registration starts at 6:00 PM\; the competition starts at 6:30 PM. 
 There is no cost to the individual participants. The Knights of Columbus
   sponsors the Free  Throw Championship  annually\,  with  Council  
 winners  progressing through District\, Regional\, and State competitions
 . Girls and boys compete in their respective age and gender divisions. Age
  eligibility is determined by the age of the contestant as of January 1\, 
 2018. Last year more than 120\,000 sharpshooters participated in over 3\,6
 00 local competitions. Due to Illinois High School Association by-laws\, a
 ny 14-year-old on an IHSA Basketball team is ineligible to compete in KofC
  Free Throw Championship. All contestants on the Council level will recei
 ve certificates for their participation in the  event.   First  and  
 second place champions  also  receive  medallions  in their  respecti
 ve age/gender division. Participants are required to furnish proof of age 
 with written parental consent. The Knights  of  Columbus  is  an  in
 ternational  Catholic family  fraternal service organization with nearly
  1.8 million members in over 14\,500 local councils. Last year\, Knights d
 onated over 70 million volunteer hours and $162 million to charitable and
   benevolent  causes\,  sponsoring  projects  to  benefit  their ch
 urch\, councils\, communities\, families\, and youth.\n\n&nbsp\;
